All the benefits of direct embroidery with none of the hangups. Lion’s D.E.R. (Direct Embroidery Replacement), allows us to minimize the edge of embroidered emblems to achieve the look and feel of direct embroidery while still having all the benefits and flexibility of heat application.
Lion offers a variety of thread types that can bring a truly unique aesthetic to any design.
MAXIMUM SIZE:
4.0 x 4.0 inches. Design must be submitted at 100% actual size.
COLOR:
9 thread color limit. Threads can be matched to PMS colors.
TEXT SIZE:
For clear legibility, satin stitched letters must be at least 1.0mm thick and 6.0mm tall.
LASER CUTTING:
Design must be self-contained and fully stitched.
Minimum material column thickness: 1.0mm
Minimum gap between cut out design elements: 1.0mm
Sharp Points: Sharp points of 60° or less will be rounded off at 0.5mm diameter (.25mm radius).

LIMITATIONS:
Heat application is not recommended for garments treated with waterproof / repellent chemicals and will not bond properly.
All Lion shipments come with product specific heat seal settings.

The following instructions are for polyester or cotton garments.
For best results we recommend using a thermo couple and J wire to measure the glue line and ensure that heat is within appropriate range.
For top and bottom heat presses, covering the decoration with a thermal silicone rubber pad before heat pressing is recommended.
